VMTC Prayer Ministry is the ministry of Victorious Ministry Through Christ, an international and inter-church ministry founded over 30 years ago by Anne S. White.
It is a powerful tool for Christians:
] to help you in personal spiritual renewal
] if you have come to a non-growth plateau in your Christian life
] if you struggle with personal ineffectiveness and defeat
] if you want to improve your relationships
] to bring healing and deliverance
] vital if you want to be effectively involved in spiritual warfare
] to encourage you for ministry to others
Prayer Ministry aims to continue the ministry of Jesus: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." [Luke 4:18-19]
Principles of VMTC Prayer Ministry.
It is a simple and disciplined method that brings together many of the ordinary biblical ministries to an individual. It is open to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit. (ref 1 Corinthians ch 12). It is a ministry of cleansing from sin, healing, deliverance and empowering by the Holy Spirit. It is not a new psychological method.
Prayer Ministry is always led by a trained male and female prayer minister. There may also be an intercessor as part of the session, who would be the same sex as the person being prayed with.
Prayer ministry is on an individual basis. If married couples require ministry, they need to make separate appointments.
It is helping people to look at their whole life and to deal with root problems. For this reason prayer ministry needs one five hour session to complete. Further sessions may be helpful, but normally this would not be within a six month period, to allow putting into practice what has been achieved from the previous session.
Prayer Ministry is part of the local church, and never operates independently from it.
How does VMTC Prayer Ministry compare with other methods of prayer ministry?
There are other methods which are similar to this ministry. But VMTC Prayer Ministry is organised by an International Board to ensure that its thorough standards are kept high. It also ensures that prayer ministers are adequately trained before being
released, and provides a team of people who can support each other and share together.
VMTC Prayer Ministry does not use secular methods of counselling, but seeks to minister to the whole person - spirit, mind and body - using the authority of God's Word and being open to the power of God's Spirit.
However, Prayer Ministry is not primarily for crisis situations. It is not trying to put on a band aid, but to do a deep operation.
Who can receive VMTC Prayer Ministry?
Those who wish to receive prayer ministry must have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. It is helpful to have already been prayed for to receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, but not essential, as this can be prayed for during the ministry session.
The effectiveness of VMTC Prayer Ministry does not depend on a method as much as your willingness to let the Holy Spirit deal with past sins and hurts.
You need to receive permission from your pastor before being ministered to.
All those who receive prayer ministry will be prepared beforehand, to explain what is involved in the time of ministry.
Confidentiality
All sessions are kept totally confidential. There are no written records of any sessions kept. All prayer ministers are themselves ministered to regularly, therefore they are totally non-judgmental of the person being ministered to, whatever may come up in the
session. The ministry will not effect any subsequent relationship.
If you want to receive Prayer Ministry
If you want to receive prayer ministry, you may contact directly any released Prayer Minister who has trained with VMTC. Contact the National Boards to find out if there are some in your area.
Because we are still short of trained Prayer Ministers, we hope you will be patient if you have had to wait for an appointment. It is not as bad as for some on the public hospital waiting list though!
Some people are given an opportunity to receive prayer ministry at a training school (visiting just for the appointment) - because it helps to provide training for those in the school. Let us know if you are interested in this.
Because there is a large block of time involved for everyone concerned, prayer ministry sessions cannot be arranged for the next day, and have to be planned ahead to fit in.
There is no charge for VMTC Prayer Ministry! All of those who are trained as prayer ministers do the ministry on a voluntary basis.
